The event center was built in 1972, but not for what you might think. Originally known as the the Ontario Motor Speedway, the NOS Event Center was a rival race track to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Sadly, the track was not able to become profitable, and later converted into the current multi-purpose NOS Event Center.
