State Farm Arena was the first NBA arena to achieve LEED certification for the environmental performance of the building.
The arena’s original name, Philips Arena, was coined from the Dutch electronics company Philips, which was the naming rights sponsor from 1999 to 2018.
The arena has hosted a number of notable events, including the 2003 NBA All-Star Game, the 2011 NCAA Men’s Final Four, and the 2018 MLS Cup.
State Farm Arena has been the site of several political rallies and events, including a 2008 campaign stop by then-Senator Barack Obama.
